Replacing Snaps on Jeep and Samurai Soft Tops – How to
Here we are replacing snaps on the side-curtains for a Suzuki Samurai. The snap replacement is the same for the Jeep soft top or Samurai soft top. The only special tool you need is a punch to make a flange so the two snap halves join together on the vinyl or canvas top or side-curtain vinyl. If the snap is broken in the soft top or side curtain of your Jeep or Samurai you may need to drill out the old snap. The male ends of the snaps that are on the body of the Samurai are simply screwed in. These screws that are holding in the male ends of the snaps on the body may be rusted in. If you have the shake-and-break tool that tool will remove them easily. When re-installing these screws on the body of the Samurai for the snaps, use either anti-seize or some marine-grade grease.
